15th April 2009 Skiing: Murren Wind Direction: Wind Stength: light Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: After a hearty breakfast we headed up the Allmendhubel railway again but this time turned left to the Gimmein area.The scernery and snow were just as good as yesterday and all the pistes are just so'ooooo quiet,which we love !!!We found the paraglider take off and watched them launch for awhile ( I must get my canopy out of the back of the garage and dust it off ! ) We also saw two speed skiers take off from the Birg and fly over - pretty scary !!! As it was a clear day we decided to go to the top of the Schthorn to take in the view which is out of this world !!! We had our picnic lunch in the middle of the veiwing area took loads of pics then headed down the black which was alot better today.We then skied down the closed Kandahar black back to Allmendhubel and spent the rest of the afternoon mainly by ourselves on the Winteregg runs including some good off piste !!! then as yesterday home on the train - a great day even if Dan was not so happy as the hot conditions made the snow soft slowing him right down !!! |
